This is a workprint VHS that was made before it’s video release. It’s almost identical to the international cut, with some additional shots and the alternate ending that can be found in the director’s cut. The workprint is also noticeably lower in video quality, with the transfer being much darker that the Blu-rays.

The workprint contains an alternate ending. In it, Ash arrives to the cave where he will be sleeping for the next several hundred years. King Arthur’s men evacuates as Ash blows up the cave to trap him inside. He begins to take the dosage, but gets distracted as some of the rocks fall. He accidentally takes more than needed and goes to sleep. He eventually wakes up and removes the rocks. He heads outside of the cave to find out that he had slept too long, as society had completely been destroyed. The international Blu-ray has Ash recounting everything that had happened to another coworker. The coworker asks him if he had said every word, which Ash responds that he probably did not. A female coworker tells Ash that his story was kinda cute. A deadite then appears, throwing Ash. The deadite picks up a cash register and begins to approach Ash’s female coworker. Ash smashes the glass to the gun display, grabs a gun and shoots the cash register from the deadite’s hands. Ash tells the deadite to leave, but she insteads approaches Ash. Ash begins to shoot at the deadite, hitting her once. The deadite warns him that she’ll eat Ash’s soul. He continues to shoot at her until she is dead. Ash puts the gun away and then kisses his female coworker.
